Every fall Free State students collect prairie plant seeds from the Demonstration Garden to germinate in the spring.  Courtney Masterson (Native Lands, LLC) has worked with students each year to identify, gather, clean and prepare native seeds for cold, moist stratification in the fall. The following spring, Courtney returns to show students how to germinate the seeds and propagate the seedlings.

Free State Prairie is open to the public every day between dawn and dusk. The prairie is located on the NW corner of the property behind the football stadium.  Enter through the main athletics entrance and follow the wide sidewalk around behind the stadium.  At the end of the sidewalk, head across the lawn to the northwest toward the shelter and shed.
